Forever kinda pieces.

This is part 1 of my closet essentials. I’ll make a part 2 because there is a lot to cover. Closet staples are so personal and unique to each individual. So, while I give you my own wardrobe essentials list yours may be totally different. For example, I love a white button down and wear mine a lot, but you might not. Your closet essentials are built upon what you wear or find yourself wearing constantly, items you grab for all the time. I think it’s helpful as a wardrobe stylist to give you insight on what my closet essentials are because it’ll inspire you to work on building your own, slim down on things you don’t need, give outfit inspiration and help you find quality pieces. Building a capsule wardrobe takes time, it’s not done overnight. You also don’t have to spend a million dollars to have a nice and concise wardrobe. I’ve been polishing my closet down over time to pieces I will own forever and wear all the time and I have a quality over quantity mindset. Before I buy a piece, I think about its longevity and how I’d style it and ask myself “is it trendy or timeless”, “how would I style this”? This list isn’t about items that are just nice to have or keeping up with trends. It’s about pieces that will last in your wardrobe, make you feel good and that are versatile. Each of these items can be styled together meaning the white t-shirt can be styled with a ballet flat or white pump and jeans, or the cardigan can be worn with the white t-shirt underneath and the wool coat layered on top paired with a split hem legging. My wardrobe staples are buildable and extremely versatile. I can wear them together or with other things in my closet and mix and match. Having wardrobe essentials isn’t boring, it’s actually so fun to find new ways to style each piece by adding in jewelry, changing your hair and makeup, etc. So, let’s get into it….
