The ultimate swimwear edit

Everything you need for the pool and beach. Just add water.

Pool days are just around the corner so cue the cute swimwear. I think good swimwear can be hard to find sometimes. It’s a lot of trial and error with sizing and fit. I think once you’ve found the brands that fit you best, you’re golden. I’ve categorized the styles so you can easily find what you’re looking for whether that’s a one piece or a two piece. The accessories like bags, cover ups, hats and jewelry are listed out and I compiled some cool hair styles and makeup looks to keep you looking fresh, bronzed and glowing all summer. Keep scrolling for your best summer style yet.

My vibe for summer 2024 is: have fun. I’m welcoming tanned skin, freckles and undone hair. My hair might be washed 50% of the time, I’m smelling like coconuts and wearing seashells to bed. I’m so excited for long, warm nights, popsicles by the pool with my kids and making endless memories.

For spring/summer style I’m really into:

Crochet, head scarves, denim, mixed metals, seashells, pearls, polka dots, leopard, braids, tanned skin, freckles, sunkissed I’ve-just-been-at-the-beach-cheeks, coconut scented everything, cowboy hats, oversized woven beach bags, strappy sandals.

One pieces:

I’ve linked several options for those that might want a more cheeky fit and some that want modesty. You will also find pieces that cater to you if you have a longer torso because I know sometime’s that’s an issue with one pieces. I also included brands that carry a large range of sizes to hopefully fit everyone’s needs.

Two pieces:

Including several options again for those that want cheeky or more modest options. I love all things neutral always but in the summer I wear color and prints.

Cover ups:

I really love crotchet right now so I found a lot of crochet cover ups for you guys. I also love a matching set so you’ll find those as well and just some other fun options.

Hats:

It’s crucial I have a hat at all times when I’m in the sun. I have melasma that comes out in the heat and the sun (lucky me!) so it’s essential. I just also think hats are super cool and add an interesting element to any swim look. I included mostly wide-brim hats, bucket hats and some cowboy hats which I love for summer with swimwear.

Accessories:

I’m loving dainty ankle bracelets with shells, shell necklaces and pearl/shell earrings this summer at the pool/beach. You can easily transition these pieces to a day time look and date night as well. Wear them with a little sun dress to brunch/ errands or a silk slip dress to dinner. So cute!

I’m soooo into crochet for spring/summer. I love it in a set like a tank and matching pants or shorts. I love crochet bucket hats and bags and head accessories like head scarves that I’ll definitely be buying like 10 of. I love a crochet head scarf not only at the pool or beach but during the day time as well. Wear one to lunch or just running errands in a cute sun dress or overalls with ballet flats.

Bags:

I prefer a big beach bag because I have 2 young kids so I’m always hauling a million things with me to the pool. I love the straw totes, I think they’re so chic and you can use them for years to come. I found some great options that are big and cute and then some other small options if you don’t have kids or want a smaller option in general.

Sunglasses:

I gravitate more towards simple sunglasses like black or tortoise, always classic. This year I think I might experiment with different colors and shapes like Y2K sunnies, large aviators and guys I love the Speedway sunglasses. I think they’re cool and sporty. I just feel like summer is such a fun time to play around with style.

Hair:

Loving effortless beach waves but with braids and braids in many forms — pigtails braids, two braids in the front, several tiny braids on the sides. Kenni tip: I would use the little clear hair ties so you can’t see them. This hair style goes great with a hat too. Chic, effortless and quintessential summer.

Makeup:

When I’m at the pool or beach I’m wearing little to no makeup but I still want to feel put together. I do wispy lashes, fluff the brows (always fluff the brows), a highlighter for that glow and some type of great pink/rose lip and cheek. That’s the key, the cheeks need to be nice and flush. You want to look like you just got kissed by the sun. I love the duo sticks that have one end as a cream blush and the other a bronzer. I believe that you should just enhance your natural beauty in whatever form that is — maybe you love your freckles, play those up. Maybe you love your lips, put on a bright coral color to enhance them.
